2009 GCER Fireworks Trip!
Since the 4th of July happens during GCER this year, we’ve planned a bus trip to the National Mall in Washington, DC to see the fireworks! The fireworks trip is an optional event and is not included in your regular GCER conference package deal. You must register for the trip through the Botball online registration form. If you’re not registering for the conference (ie. you’re traveling with the team as a parent, chaperone, family member, etc.) you can still register for the optional field trip through the Botball online registration form while seats are available.
The buses will depart from the conference center at 4 pm sharp on July 4th and will return to the conference center around midnight. Some items you might want to consider bringing on the field trip include: a blanket (or camp chair), money for food or souvenirs, and sunscreen. A number of events will be occurring at the National Mall during this time frame and you can read about it here. Although we do not have the exact pick up and drop off location for the field trip at this time, you can check out a map of the National Mall here.
Another Fireworks Option!
If you are not able to get on the bus for the Fireworks at the National Mall or if you’d like another option, you can check out the local fireworks in Leesburg. You will have to provide your own transportation and you can read the details here.
